Dear Jeanne....

I can't express in words what I am feeling right now.... my cousin - my friend, Pat. The one person I know that never judged anyone. My sincerest apologies for not maintaining contact with you guys since I last saw you both - my Dad's funeral and Joe Bonamassa, I do remember.

Please know. had I known, I would have been there - it's my fault and again, I apologize. I have included my email address in the Guestbook registration so please send me an email, I would really like to talk to you.

My condolences,

Grits

Another cool memory. Pat and I went out the Aberdeen airport to see Robert Kennedy on May 11, 1968 about a month before he was assassinated. Pat's mom (I'm pretty sure she was our transportation) then drove us down to the civic theater for Kennedy's speech. After the speech, he exited and we followed his entourage into the civic arena. It was there that I saw Pat reach out and shake Kennedy's hand. Such a cool memory.

Prayers to Pat's family. Pat and I spent a lot of time together during elementary school years at Simmons. Lots of sleepovers. Played Hot Wheels, watched Midnight Macabre, and ate lots of Cheese Nips crackers together. Enjoyed many games of basketball on his driveway. Loved his wiener dog, Fred. Later on, we both worked in the mail room at the American News in the 1970s. Many a good time was had in those days. Fond memories for sure. A good dude.

My deepest sympathy to Pat's family at this very challenging time of loss. Pat was a classmate and worked for my Father at KO Lee. Dad enjoyed Pat and always commented on his good work ethic and dedication to his job. We will miss his wonderful smile. God's blessings to you.
