Mass of Christian Burial for Christine Salwei, 86, Aberdeen, will be 10:30am Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 3rd Ave SE, with Father Shane Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Liturgical wake service will be 5:00pm Monday, May 28, 2012 at the mortuary. Visitation will be 3-5pm Monday, at the mortuary and for one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday, at the church.

Christine passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at ManorCare Health Services, Aberdeen. Blessed be her memory.

Christine was born August 7, 1925 in Edmunds County, South Dakota to Christian and Christina Kaul. She attended school in Hosmer, South Dakota.

Christine and Anton "Tony" Salwei were united in marriage April 14, 1947 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They farmed in the Zeeland, North Dakota area until 1952 when they moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota. Along with raising her family, Christine worked at various cafAC.?s in Aberdeen. She volunteered her cooking and baking skills at Sacred Heart Parochial School and the Brown County Jail.

She is a past member of the Moose Lodge and also enjoyed traveling.

Preceding Christine in death are her parents, husband, one sister, Mary Cully and one brother, Bill Kaul.

Grateful for sharing Christine's life are her children, Robert J. Salwei of Springfield, SD, Lauretta (Dave) Beavers of Newcastle, WY, Michael A. Salwei, Patrick A. Salwei both of Aberdeen, SD, Ray K. (Ann) Salwei of Bath, SD, and Mary A. Salwei of Las Vegas, NV, her brother, Gideon (Janice) Kaul of Hosmer, SD, and her sister, Frieda (George) Roiger of Springfield, MN. Also three grandchildren, Darren Heib, Amanda Bench and Kristen Valiquette and three great grandchildren,
