William “Bill” Klein, 71, of Aberdeen, SD, was found Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Aberdeen, with Father Mitchell McLaughlin officiating.
Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery following Mass. A time of fellowship and luncheon will be at the parish hall following the burial.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday the 21st, at the mortuary with a 7 p.m. liturgical wake service. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church.

Bill Klein was born November 2, 1950, in Aberdeen, SD to Andrew and Lena (Malsom) Klein. He was raised in Aberdeen and attended St. Mary’s Parochial School. He graduated from Roncalli High School in 1969. Bill’s graduating class was the first class to attend all four years at Roncalli High School.
Bill then attended Northern State University in Aberdeen. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in math and teaching. He then began his student teaching at Faulkton, SD. Bill began his professional teaching career at Wolsey, SD. He then taught for several years in Egan, SD. He then moved to Chamberlain, where he taught high school math for many years. Bill also was an assistant football coach and enjoyed helping coach teenagers. He enjoyed his nicknames from students and teens he coached over the years; many called him “Sebe” or “Coach.”
Bill enjoyed his years teaching, but unfortunately incurred a stroke at age 54, and was forced to retire. Retirement led Bill back to his birthplace; Aberdeen, where he spent his final years. He enjoyed playing cards, board games, collecting baseball cards, and watching all sports.
Grateful for having shared his life are his brother; Don Klein of Buffalo Gap, SD; sister, Sandy (Bob) Rennolet of Menno, SD; nieces: Rebecca (Brian) Poelstra and Rhonda (Brian) Oedekoven; nephew, Richard (Amanda) Rennolet; great-nephews: Anthony Poelstra, Ethan Poelstra, and Jack Rennolet; and great-niece Reese Rennolet.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
