Sharon Kathleen Pulfrey was born July 22, 1944, in Aberdeen, SD to Ray and Viola (Bacon) Pulfrey.  She attended school in Claremont, SD, and graduated from Claremont High School.

Sharon was united in marriage to Alvin Lehr in Aberdeen in 1962.  The couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN, where Sharon was employed as a teacher’s aide.  In 1976, Sharon and Alvin moved to Houghton, SD, where in addition to raising their two boys, Sharon also attended and graduated from Stewart’s School of Hairstyling in Aberdeen.  She then opened her own salon in Houghton, which quickly became a favorite gathering place for friends and visitors, even when they weren’t getting their hair done. Sharon and Alvin loved traveling to California to visit family and greatly enjoyed fishing together, which they tried to do every chance they could.  They shared 44 years of marriage before Alvin passed away on July 18, 2006. Sharon then moved to Aberdeen, where she worked at JC Penney’s, CosmoProf, and Sally’s.  She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

Sharon was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Houghton and was also actively involved in the Order of the Eastern Star Chapters in both Claremont and Aberdeen.  In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, reading, and participating in Order of the Eastern Star activities.  She also loved spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved cats.

Grateful for sharing in Sharon’s life are her sons, Tim Lehr and Tony (Kelly) Lehr; her grandson, A.J. Lehr; her siblings:  Rex Pulfrey, Jenenne (Glenn) Thorpe, Myron (Janet) Pulfrey and Keith (Alice) Pulfrey; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; parents, Ray and Viola; two brothers, Gary Pulfrey and Terry Pulfrey; and one sister, Marianna Thorpe.
