Ronnie Veman Snow was born on June 29, 1946, the second son of Veman and Rose (Gabriel) Snow of Faulkton, SD. He attended country grade school near Onaka, SD. After grade school he remained on the family farm working with his father until 1968, at which time he moved to Onaka and started to work for Andy Schmidt who had a cattle and farming operation.

On June 27, 1969 he married Sally Lerew in Onaka, SD. They made their home in Onaka. In the fall of 1970, Ronnie and his wife moved to Faulkton, SD and he took a job driving bulk milk truck for Larry Hartley, and picking up milk from rural dairy farms. In 1976, Ronnie purchased a hay-mover truck and returned to the family farm where he did custom hay-moving and farming as well as raising cattle and hogs.

In the fall of 1988 Ronnie and his family moved back to Faulkton. He took a job at the Faulkton School where he worked as a custodian in the elementary building. Ronnie had a very good working relationship with the teachers. In the fall of 1998, he had the opportunity of taking the job of maintenance/custodian at the Faulk County Court House. He worked there until the spring of 2011 at which time he retired.

During Ronnie’s retirement he found great joy in his yard work and gardening. He loved to share his garden vegetables with others to enjoy as well. Ronnie also loved fishing, especially ice fishing. He was a good fisherman and enjoyed sharing his pickled fish. Ronnie also enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting. He has many fond memories of hunting with some of his grandsons. Ronnie was a very giving man who was very much loved and will be deeply missed. Not only did he work hard but his many friends and family will always remember him by his fun-loving jokes and pranks.
