Robert "Bob" Friske

Robert “Bob” Friske, 94, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Prairie Heights Healthcare, Aberdeen.

A private family-only Memorial Service will be held at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel. The burial will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers.

Bob was born February 22, 1929, at Jake Daniel and Magdalena (Eisenbeisz) Friske, in Aberdeen, SD. Bob married June Wolff on April 22, 1950, and they enjoyed 64 beautiful years of marriage before June passed away in September 2014. They were proud parents of three daughters and one son.

Bob worked at the Northside Drug Store, Hauck Plumbing, Friske Plumbing and Heating, before starting his own business, Bob’s Plumbing and Heating, on April 1, 1968, and he never completely retired.

He enjoyed spending time with June, the girls, and Bobby at the “cabin” on Richmond Lake. Eventually, he and June made Richmond Lake their permanent home. In his younger years, he played baseball with the Aberdeen Smitty’s baseball team. He liked hunting pheasants, fishing, gardening, and reading Louis L’Amour books.

Bob was the happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren. He taught them to swim, water ski, and snowmobile. For 30 years, Bob, June, and their family would take annual trips to the Black Hills for snowmobiling.

Bob is survived by his children: Penny (Rich) Biegler, Linda (Jay) Johnson, Sandi (Mike) Pederson, and Robert D. Friske; grandchildren: Matthew (Rebecca) Biegler, JR (Paula) Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Adam Pederson, and Ann (Brandon) Pederson-Flinn; all his great-grandchildren; special friends, Luci Weigel and Fred Khamissizadeh; and the staff of Prairie Heights.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; brother, Otto (Sonny) Friske; sister, Eleanor Noltner Graf; and grandson, Dr. TJ Johnson.
