Mary Alma Keller, 95, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away November 27, 2021 at the Primrose Cottages, Aberdeen.
Mass of Christian burial is 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen, with Fr. Jeffery Schulte officiating.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the mortuary. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church.
Burial is at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Aberdeen.

Mary Alma Denney was born April 9,1926 in Hillsboro, IL to William Earl and Ruth Catherine (Hammond) Denney. She grew up and attended school mainly in Westport and Columbia, SD. She graduated from Westport High School in 1945. Mary took a teacher’s course at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen and then taught Rural School in Spink and Brown Counties for a few years.
Mary married Edward V. Keller on June 5, 1948. They had 6 children and lived their entire married life in Aberdeen. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. She sang in the church choir, was in a parish band, taught in Catholic Daughters and CCD, and was a member of a Parish Review team.
Mary was employed at Newsprinting & Sears and Roebuck Companies doing office and retail jobs. She was employed at Lourdes Hall as a nurse’s aide and worked at the YMCA for many years. She volunteered at the Mothers March of Dimes, The Muscular Dystrophy March, and coordinated the Aberdeen Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy for several years. She was a Girl and Boy Scout leader, belonged to a Home Extension group, Merry Eight and JF Community Club. With her husband, Ed, Mary joined the Belles and Beaux Square Dancing Club.
Mary is survived by her children: Judy Sauter of San Antonio, TX, Mary Keller of Webster, WI, Edward J. (Millie) Keller of Aberdeen, Cheryl Pietz of Aberdeen, Cindy (Fred) Hoffman of Long Lake, SD, and Laurie (Joe) Harrell of Ormond Beach, FL; sister, Earlene Bachmeier; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Eugene Denney; sister, Betty Ruth Amick; and sons-in-law, Andy Sauter and Chuck Pietz.
Mary’s grandchildren, Terrol Ferguson, Joseph Keller, Michael Keller, Melanie Jenner, Danielle Lamont, Jena Peruche, Rachel Pietz and Matthew Hoffman will serve as Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the Family prefers memorials be made to your favorite charity in Mary Alma Keller’s name.
