Mark Alan Kellar was born November 4, 1982, in Bismarck, ND to Larry and Susan (Rubida) Kellar. He went home to aunt Marilyn and uncle Burl’s for a few days then home to Java, SD. After Jason was born the family moved to the Aberdeen area. The family resided there until his siblings, Starla, Kade and Caleb, were born. Larry and Susan moved the family to Conde, SD when the twins were three. Mark resided in this area until he was seventeen. Mark moved to the Aberdeen area and lived there for several years. He worked at various jobs including Super 8 call center, Subway, Pet Store, Pizza Ranch, roofing, and Pierson Ford as a detailer.

He later moved to Mound City, SD after his children moved out of state. Mark stayed in Mound City for two in a half year, working at PIC. He then made a decision to move to the Washington state area to be closer to his children. Mark returned to South Dakota at the beginning of the pandemic shortly after his father, Larry Kellar, passed away on October 11, 2019. Mark worked at Super Stop while training for his CDL.

Some of his many activities he enjoyed was healthy cooking, biking, hiking, and running. He was always looking at what was happening in the world, always questioning and examining ideas. Mark was actively learning and seeking Jesus his whole life. He enjoyed listening to the bible story app while falling asleep. Mark was anticipating a trip to “Walk in Jesus’ Steps,” with a group of friends before he passed. Mark’s vibrant spirit will be dearly missed.

Grateful for having shared Mark’s life are his children: Derrick and Teresa; mother, Susan Kellar; brothers: Jason Kellar and his children, Layton, Kayden, and Kylie; Kade Keller and his child Karstan; Caleb Keller and his children Abraham and Briella; sister, Starla and her child Harper; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mark was preceded to heaven by his father, Larry Kellar; grandparents, Arlene and Loyld Kellar and Adele and Ralph Rubida; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
