Margaret E. Heider, 82, of Aberdeen, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at her residence.
Due to COVID 19, a private memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Father Tim Smith officiating.
Public burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Leola, at a later date.

Margaret E. Hutton was born December 3, 1938, to Leslie and Catherine (Connelly) Hutton in Grand Forks, ND. She grew up in the Manvel, ND area and attended and graduated high school in Grand Forks. Following graduation, Margaret furthered her education and earned her Teaching Degree.
Margaret was united in marriage to Charles “Terry” Heider on June 2, 1960, in Manvel. In 1966, the couple moved to Leola, SD, where Margaret worked for the Leola State Bank and Terry served as the Leola Elevator Manager. Margaret and Terry raised two daughters and shared 36 years of marriage before he passed away on October 1, 1996. Margaret continued to make Leola her home and also continued her 30-year career with the Leola State Bank until 2006, when she retired. She spent her final years in Aberdeen, SD, where she volunteered much of her time for the Catholic churches. Even in her retirement years, Margaret kept busy with yard work and also enjoyed long walks and bike rides. She especially loved working on her many sewing projects and spending time with family and friends.
Grateful for sharing Margaret’s life are her daughters, Connie (Dan) Hofer and Jackie (Kevin) Smalley; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Terry; her parents, Leslie and Catherine; two brothers, Leslie and Chet; and one infant sister, Susan.
