Margaret “Marg” Hare was born to Melvin “Pat” and Caroline (Schoch) Hare on November 14, 1949, in Aberdeen, South Dakota where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Roncalli High School. She was united in marriage to Thomas Francis Guhin on July 25, 1970, in Aberdeen, SD.
We are at our best when we serve others and our mom was at her best for all of her life. She had a servant's heart and nothing brought her more joy than taking care of others. She loved her mother and father, her siblings, her four children, and most especially her twelve grandchildren.
Marg was happiest and most at peace in Sacred Heart Church. Living only one block away, she could be seen walking to and from her home of 45 years on Arch Street to the church. Not only did she attend daily mass and adoration, she was employed by the church cooking and cleaning for the priests in residence. Marg’s strong Catholic faith was rooted from birth and she was especially proud to be a member of the first 4 year graduating class of Roncalli High School.
Blessed in sharing her life are her children: Scott (Kimberly) Guhin of Homestead, FL, Jackie (Nathan) Reede of Aberdeen, SD, Roberta (Sean) Lockwood of Monument, CO, and Elizabeth Dawn (Steven) Gors of Madison, SD; grandchildren: Augustin, Maxwel, Reagan, Harrison, Lauren, Avae, Piper, Claire, Thomas, Isabel, Joseph, and Lucy; her brothers, Pat Hare and Jim Hare; sisters, Donna Roberts, Kathy Hare, and Bonnie Feist; loyal friends Cynthia Jewett and Rene Graf; sisters-in-law Emily Guhin and Carolyn Guhin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marg was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two siblings Jim Hare and Kathy Hare.
A very special thank you to Sarah Viola and the Brain Intercept for helping our family navigate the last few years of Marg’s life.
We know our mom is now rejoicing with all the angels and saints in heaven.
Memorials may be sent in Marg’s name for the Stained-Glass Window Fund at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
