Loren Enger Obituary

Loren E. Enger, 81, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen, with Fr. Jeffrey Schulte officiating.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary and continues an hour before Mass at the church.

Burial is at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Aberdeen.

Loren Eugene Enger was born February 4, 1940 to Lowell and Evelyn (Estwick) Enger in Langford, SD.  He grew up in Langford until 1946, when his family moved to Aberdeen, where he attended and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1958. Following graduation Loren enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany for a time. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1963.

Loren was united in marriage to Ann Roshau on May 22, 1965. Together they had two children, John and Christine. Loren and Ann made their home in Aberdeen, SD. Loren worked as an electrician for many years at MACs, Mathis, BUSS, and KMS Electric before his retirement in 2004. Loren was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen as well as a member of the Moose Lodge for many years.

Loren had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed restoring many cars throughout his lifetime. He was also an avid motorcycle fan, enjoying traveling to Sturgis, SD for the rally with his wife and friends.

Loren is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann of Aberdeen, SD; son, John (Sandie) Enger of Rapid City, SD, grandchildren: Adam Acker of Aberdeen, SD, Ashley (fiancé Cory Gillerstein) Acker of Moorhead, MN, Chad (Stephanie) Enger of Rapid City, SD, Olivia Enger of Rapid City, SD; great grandchild, Carter Enger of Rapid City, SD; sister; Margaret McPartland of Aberdeen, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Evelyn Enger, and his daughter, Christine.
