Lloyd George Schock was born February 11th, 1955 in Eureka, SD, to David and Lorraine “Sally” (Hoffman) Schock. His early years were spent on the farm northwest of Long Lake, SD. The family moved to Aberdeen in 1966 where he continued his schooling, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School with the class of 1973, alongside his twin brother, Lynn.

He met the love of his life, Dorothy Berreth, around the age of 16, and they were married in Aberdeen, SD on November 4th, 1973. They welcomed two children, Pat and Becky, and many fur babies over the years. In more recent years, his animals of choice were his pugs! He would often be seen driving around town with a pug hanging out the window.

Lloyd began his 48-year career with Hub City, Inc., on January 15th, 1973, where he continued to work until the time of his death. Lloyd will be forever remembered as a very hard worker, kind, caring, compassionate, loyal, and most importantly loving man who loved his family more than anything. He was always the man to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Lloyd’s hobbies included cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, going fishing, going to the races, and playing cards. He could always be found in Todd Cunningham’s garage on a Sunday night with his poker buddies. There was always a card game any time he was with his brothers and sister as well.

Grateful for having shared Lloyd’s life is his wife, Dorie; son, Pat (Angie) Schock, their children Baron and Gannon; daughter, Becky Schock, and her children Blaine, Paige, Morgan (Nate), Tyler, Jordan, Devin; great-grandsons: Tracen, Mason, Malaki, and Isaiah; siblings: Larry (Jeannie) Schock, Paulette Schock, and Lynn (Lisa) Schock; in-laws: Carol (Rod) Eisenbeisz, Diane Berreth, Mary Placek, and Allie (Todd) Howell and their families; and his two pugs: Chloe and Honey.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Bennett, brother-in-law: Steve Berreth, and his pugs: Blossom, Charlotte, and Puggie.

Lloyd requests casual attire at his services.
