Linda Kathryn Wald (Siro), 62 of Ellendale, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 in her home

Mass of Christian Burial will be, Saturday, November 12th, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, Ellendale, ND with Fr. Patrick Parks and Fr. Don Glover officiating.

Burial will be at St. Helena’s Catholic Cemetery. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the burial at St Helena’s fellowship hall.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m., Friday, at St. Helena’s Catholic Church with a liturgical wake and rosary at 7 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church.

Linda Kathryn Wald (Siro), age 62 of Ellendale, ND passed away on Tuesday November 8th, 2022 in her home. 

Linda Kathryn Wald (Siro) was born on March 12th, 1960 to Andrew Wald, Sr. and Catherine (Vetter) Wald in Linton, ND. She attended school in Herried, SD until eighth grade. She then completed her education in 1978 at Central High School in Aberdeen, SD. She moved to Ellendale and obtained her CNA, and worked at the nursing home for several years. In 1985, Linda moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Medical Personnel Pool in Edina, MN. In 1993, Linda and her daughter, Amanda, moved back to Ellendale where she worked as a home health aide and cared for the elderly. Linda worked as the head cook for Ellendale Public School from 1998-2008. From 2008-2011, Linda worked as a kitchen manager/cook at Elm Lake Resort. In 2012, Linda’s health was compromised & she stayed home to care for her ailing mother, Catherine. In 2014, Linda managed Shelby’s diner in Hecla, SD. 

Linda will be remembered for her kindness and generous heart, tasty cooking, and baking. In her early years, she liked to play pool and was a part of a pool league in Ellendale. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, fur-baby, Annie, and liked to garden. She loved to play bingo, spend holidays with family, and travel, especially to the Florida beaches. 

Linda is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Derek) Kramer, grandchildren: Kaiyah, Kira, and Kenadie of Aberdeen SD; siblings: Lucy Hahne (Wayne Voeller) of Ellendale, ND, Betty Hahne of Fredonia, ND, Conrad (Linda) Wald of Ham Lake, MN, Carey (Dawn) Wald of Ellendale, ND, Andrew Jr. (Connie) Wald of Fullerton, ND, Wendelin Mark Wald (Mark Meyer) of Minneapolis, MN, and friend Scott Arion of Ellendale, ND. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Andrew Sr. and Catherine Wald, brother, Paul Wald Sr., Nephew, Alex Wald, brother-in-law, Wilfred Hahne, and brother-in-law, Bernard Hahne, her fur babies: Bandit and Sugar.
