Larry Eugene Erdmann, 86, of Aberdeen, SD formerly of Wetonka, SD passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor

The Memorial service is at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, SD. Pastor Jordon Andreasen will be officiating.

Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and also view the service at www.schriversmemorial.com.

Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.

Larry Erdmann was born on April 14, 1935, in Ipswich, SD to Arnold and Dorothy (Crisp) Erdmann. He attended Country School by Wetonka, SD, and attended Aberdeen Central High School where he graduated. Larry then went into the Airforce and was stationed in Labrador, Canada where he served four years while working on radars and equipment.

After leaving the Airforce Larry met and married Donna Hubert on March 28, 1959. They brought six children into their lives over the years. At this time, he owned his own appliance repair shop in Ipswich for many years. Over the years Larry was an appliance repair man for Sears, Montgomery Awards, Aberdeen TV and Appliance. In the early 1990’s he worked maintenance at Presentation College of Aberdeen. When he retired from there, he got himself a job to occupy his time with Ride Line with the City of Aberdeen.

Larry was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where he was baptized and attended with his parents and family. He was a member of the Military Honor Guard, The VFW, and the American Legion.

Larry over the many years of his life enjoyed camping on the weekends with close and distant family, many fishing outings as much as he could get in, He also enjoyed hunting deer, pheasants, and grouse.  Larry loved going to dances with Donna. He played many years in a bowling league which he enjoyed.  Larry loved playing cards with friends and family. He tinkered around trying to fix broken TVs and appliances.

Grateful for having shared Larry’s life are his wife, Donna; children David (Stacy) Erdmann, Lincoln, NE; Denise Erdmann, Southern Pines, NC; Alan Erdmann, Wetonka, SD; Kelly (Cary Cleland) Erdmann Aberdeen, SD; Kendra Erdmann, Sioux Falls, SD; siblings Don (Carol) Erdmann, Kenneth Erdmann, Douglas Erdmann, Walter (Judy) Erdmann, Marilyn (Dean) Pulfrey, Sharon (Orvin) Lee and Paul (Phyliss) Erdmann; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, two young brothers Johnny and William and infant son Thomas.
