Kirk Niesen

Kirk Noel Niesen, 63, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at Prairie Lakes Healthcare in Watertown, SD.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jeff Whillock of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  A time of fellowship and a luncheon will follow the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

Kirk’s wishes were to be cremated, and burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Kirk Noel Niesen was born on November 7, 1959, to Jack and Twyla (Ellestad) Niesen in Miller, SD. At a young age, Kirk and his family moved to Aberdeen, where he attended public schools. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1978 and attended Northern State College, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Kirk received his Realtors License and later moved to Las Vegas where he opened his own reality brokerage company called The Realty Group. In 2015, Kirk’s health brought him back to Aberdeen, where he retired.  Kirk enjoyed cooking and hosting backyard barbeques.  He was an avid Vikings fan.

Grateful for having shared Kirk’s life are his son, Tyler Kirk of Los Angeles, CA; daughter Lacey Rae (Nick) Fortner of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers: Kraig (Sandi) Niesen of Oakes, ND, and Kent (Sherice) Niesen of Las Vegas, NV; one granddaughter Rae Jackson Fortner; and niece, Karlyle Grace Niesen of Aberdeen, SD

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
