Karen Lee Cisco was born November 21, 1966, to Carroll G. and Fran (Dosch) Cisco in Lakewood, CA. In 1975, she moved with her family to Aberdeen, SD, where she attended school and graduated from Aberdeen Central with the Class of 1986.
Following graduation, Karen began working at the Adjustment Training Center in Aberdeen. She eventually moved in with her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Rocky Currington, and helped with their daycare for 25 years.
Karen suffered from Muscular Dystrophy and other health concerns for many years. This, however, did not keep her sidelined or prevent her from enjoying riding horses at Spurs with her two sisters or competing at the Special Olympics in Huron, SD, where she won many medals. Karen, unfortunately, was not able to fulfill her wish of visiting Disney World this past summer, as the trip was cancelled due to COVID 19. She was a loving, kind person who will be missed greatly.
So grateful for sharing Karen’s life are her mother, Fran Cisco and her sisters, Susan (Rocky) Currington, Laura Schilling and Sandra (Bob) Cisco, all of Aberdeen; as well as her nieces, Erika Hanson and Gina (Rick) Ryan; her nephew, Jason (Lacey) Currington; her great-nieces: Rachel Ryan, Summer Ryan, Amelia Currington, Charlotte Currington, Anabel Currington, McKayla Hanson and McKenzie Hanson; and her great-nephew, Austin Ryan.
Karen is preceded in death by her father, Carroll Cisco; one sister, Carol Ann Cisco; and her grandparents.
