Joshua J. Hinderks, 37, of Tempe, AZ passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Goodyear, AZ.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen, SD.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm before the service at the church.
Burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Joshua John Hinderks was born June 8, 1983 to Jerome and Kathy Hinderks in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen, SD.
Josh graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 2002. He then attended Northern State University in Aberdeen before moving to Omaha Nebraska. In Omaha, he lived with his sisters and nephew for a few years before moving to Phoenix, AZ.
Josh enjoyed playing soccer, golfing, listening to music, attending concerts, camping, photography, outdoor sports and being with friends and family. Josh was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs, Boston Celtics, Las Vegas Raiders and the Oklahoma Sooners.
Josh married Marissa Langlie on March 7, 2015 at the Bentley Projects in Phoenix, AZ.
Josh graduated from the Cortiva Institute, Scottsdale, AZ in the fall of 2014 and was a licensed massage therapist. He was employed at Ryken Chiropractic in Chandler, AZ.
Josh was such a caring, compassionate, and kind young man. He had such a passion for life and would embrace anyone he came in contact with. He would light up a room upon entering it and his infectious smile would spread joy to all. Friendships came easy to Josh and all of his friends were considered BEST friends. Josh leaves behind a lasting legacy for all of us to treasure.
He is survived by his wife Marissa Hinderks, Tempe, AZ, his mother, Kathy Hinderks, sisters Kristin (Mark) Butler, Kami (Ricky) Backer nieces and nephews, Bradyn Hinderks, McKinley, Jaxon and Rylie Butler and Charlie and Calli Backer all of Omaha NE, his in-laws, Lois Plantenberg and Allyn Calhoun, Glendale, AZ and his beloved dog Raven. Josh is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of close friends both near and far.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Jerome, in 2017, and his grandparents, Joe and Frances Hinderks and Pete and Marilyn Carlson and his aunt, Patricia Carter.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers condolences and memorials be sent to the family in care of: Kathy Hinderks, 18924 Redwood Street, Omaha, NE, 68136, whereby a scholarship will be established in Josh’s memory.
