Josephine Bittner-Little, 95, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Aberdeen.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Aberdeen with Father Tim Cones officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 6-7 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary with a liturgical wake and rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church.

Josephine Nelson was born on March 8, 1926, in Columbia, SD to Louis and Mary (Smith) Nelson. She attended rural schools and graduated from Columbia High School.
Josephine was employed at Northwestern Bell in Aberdeen before marrying Herman Bittner in Aberdeen on June 28, 1950, and four sons were born to this union. They made their home in Chelsea, SD, and Herman passed away in 1972. She continued to live in Chelsea until moving to Conde in 1974.
Jo married Lyle Little in 1974. They made their home in Conde, SD until Lyle retired in 1984. They then moved to Mina Lake. In 1999, they moved to Spearfish, SD, and to Aberdeen in 2003. Lyle passed away in 2007 and Jo continued to make Aberdeen her home.
Josephine enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts, and bingo. She loved spending time with all her friends at the Carlyle Apartments. Jo was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen, the Senior Center & the Golden Hills Antique Club in Spearfish.
Josephine is survived by her four sons: Neil (Valerie) Bittner of Aberdeen, SD, Mark (Chris) Bittner of Spearfish, SD, Dan (Nancy) Bittner of Aberdeen, SD, and Dean (D’Anna) Bittner of Belle Fourche, SD; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; five sisters; and one brother.
