Jessica Marie Dornbusch, 39, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.

 Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen with Fr. Andrew Dickinson officiating.

Burial is at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Aberdeen, SD, at a later date.

Jessica Marie Dornbusch was born March 12, 1982 to Dave and Lauri (Washenberger) Dornbusch in Aberdeen, SD at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital. She attended Aberdeen public schools, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 2000. She prided herself of being a big sister to Cody Dornbusch. Jessica and Cody created memories together sharing many of the same friends and interests. When Jessica was eight, she experienced one of the most special days of her life - the birth of her baby sister, Cacey Dornbusch. Her youngest sibling, Anna Dornbusch, would later be dubbed as Jessica’s “mini-me.” The two remained close throughout Jessica’s life with Jessica often telling Anna she was her best friend. 

Jessica found joy in music, writing, nature, and animals. Her passion was working with children. Being the best aunt to Jude, Skylar, Jack, and Joseph was her pride and joy. Her devotion to her nieces and nephews was apparent and will forever be cherished. 

Jessica found love and support though New Life Fellowship, AA, and Celebrate Recovery. Through these groups and life’s many journeys, Jessica formed countless bonds. Bonds she valued and nurtured despite the tiring battles she faced daily.

Her beautiful soul is survived by her mother, Lauri Dornbusch; sisters, Cacey, 31, and Anna Dornbusch, 29, both of Aberdeen; brother, Cody Dornbusch, 38, of Dunsmuir, CA; niece, Skylar Glaser, nephews, Jude Randall, Jack Dornbusch and Joseph Muehlberg of Montgomery, TX; grandmothers, Joan Washenberger and Shirley Dornbusch; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Dave Dornbusch; grandparents: Virgil Dornbusch, Percy “Perk” Washenberger, and Betty and Larry Davis; and nephew Eli Dornbusch.
