Jay M. Hoffman was born October 27, 1971, in Aberdeen, SD to Jack and JoAnn (Wortman) Hoffman. This is the area where he was raised and attended school.
Following high school graduation, Jay began working construction. In 2003, he moved to Black Hawk to be closer to his daughter, Tea, who was the light of his life. Jay spent the last eight years employed with Reede Construction of Aberdeen.
In his spare time, Jay enjoyed working on cars. He also enjoyed attending many types of sporting events, as well as watching them on television. Jay was very handy at fixing things and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He left us all too soon and will be greatly missed.
Thankful and proud to have shared Jay’s life is his daughter, Tea Hoffman of Black Hawk; and his mother, JoAnn Hoffman, sisters, Julie (Doug) Larson and Jill (Ryan) Mohr, nephews, Josh Larson and Trevor Larson, nieces, Shauna Larson and Skylar Mohr, and great-niece, Sophia Larson, all of Aberdeen.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hoffman.
