James Buechler Obituary

James M. Buechler, 63, of Aberdeen SD, passed away on September 2, 2022, at his home.

There will be a private family Graveside Committal Service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with no formal services being held per Jim’s request.

James M. Buechler was born May 4, 1959 to Walter and Marlyene (Schwan) Buechler in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  He was raised in Leola, SD where he attended and graduated High School.  Jim then moved to Aberdeen and began working at 3M, where he worked in the shipping and receiving department.  He married Bobbie J. Frost on September 1, 1984, in Aberdeen and they continued to make Aberdeen their home. To this union, are three children: Josh, Trey, and Preston. Jim worked at 3M for over 35 years until his retirement. He continued working part-time at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen for two more years.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go camping with his family, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. While the boys were growing up, he helped coach youth soccer. Jim loved his family and friends dearly, but never wanted to venture far from home.  He enjoyed spending time in his backyard, sitting by the fire pit, and loved spending time in his man cave.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Bobbie; his sons: Josh (Allie)Aman-Buechler of Aberdeen, Trey (Christine) Buechler of Sioux Falls, SD, and Preston (Joanna) Buechler of Monticello, MN; brother Todd (Sharmen) of Aberdeen; Sisters:  Sandy Buechler (Donnie) of Westport, SD and Lori (Lonny) Lux of Aberdeen; and eight grandchildren: Portia, Sophia, Lydia, Chloe, Kenadie, Lincoln, Ella, and Lucy.

Jim was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
