On May 29, 1946, Hazel and Gerald Reecy were united in marriage at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby, MN. They resided in Clear Lake, SD, until moving to Aberdeen in September of 1974. To this union three children were born: Geraldine, James, and Robert. Hazel’s husband, Gerald, passed away in 1977.

Hazel worked at various jobs in Clear Lake. In Aberdeen she was employed at the 3M Company. She retired from the 3M Company in 1986.

Hazel married Philip Anderson on January 29, 1983. Philip and Hazel resided on his farm near Redfield, SD. While living in Redfield, Hazel worked as a CNA at the nursing home and retired after Philip passed away in 1998. Hazel moved her mobile home from the farm in Redfield to her daughter and son-in-law’s farm in Aberdeen in November of 1993. She moved into the Davis Court Apartments at Mother Joseph Manor in 2007, and in June of 2020 she transferred to their long-term care facility.

Hazel enjoyed playing cards and bingo while at Mother Joseph Manor and was known for always helping others. She had a special place in her heart for angels and collected angel figurines for many years. Now she is our “Angel”. Hazel was a proud member of The American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, St. Mary’s Altar Society and The Catholic Daughters of Americas.
