Everett "Bob" Evans Obituary

It is with great sorrow that the family of Everett Owen Evans, known to his friends as "Bob", passed away on April 6, 2020, in his home at the age of 88 of natural cause.

Related to the restrictions of the current COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside memorial service, with his immediate family, will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Family and friends may sign Bob’s online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com.

Everett Owen Evans was born February 28, 1932, in Jamestown, ND to Robert and Gladys (Heimke) Evans.  Bob accepted Christ at an early age and had most recently attended Calvary Baptist Church in Aberdeen, SD. He relied on his strong faith in Christ to guide his life.  Bob was the patriarch of our family in every sense of the word and each family member had a close and special relationship with him. He was always there for each of us throughout our life journeys.  His loving and nurturing legacy will live on in all the lives he touched as we cherish the memories of the many happy times we were so fortunate to share.

Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and served from 1951 to 1955 in the US Navy on the ship USS Rendova.  After discharging from the service, he returned to the Ellendale-Oakes area, where he farmed and raised dairy cattle until he was employed by Melroe of Gwinner, ND, as a semi-truck driver until his retirement.

Bob was joined in holy matrimony with Beverly Ann Wood on August 25,1953. To this union four girls were born. Bob was an avid sportsman, and he loved most of all fishing and hunting with his grandchildren.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory daughters:  Jacqueline Evans of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kathryn (Ron) Benhart of Lake Stevens, WA and Cheryl (Tim) Reed of Bath, SD; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren:  Kayden, Christopher, and Jenna Svarstad of Aberdeen, SD,  Jason Evans and children: Ashley, Mykala, and Nikkia of Cedar Rapids, IA, Dustin (Megan) Barton of Maui, HI, Jessica (Mike) Poddo and daughter, Makena of Lake Stevens, WA, Tarah Reed Bertsch and children: Skylar, Hailey, and Wesley of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kenneth Reed of Columbia, SD and Michelle Reed Fortin and children: Mallory, Mason, Nova, and Colt of Mitchell, SD; his sister, Janice Wallace of Mott, ND: his brothers-in-law, Robert Wood and Edward Wood, both of Ft. Collins, CO; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Wood; daughter, Donna Rae Svarstad; sister, Joyce Rude; brother, Albert "Bert" Evans; parents: Robert and Gladys (Heimke) Evans; and great-grandson, Evan Fortin.

Our family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayer and support we've received.
