Eric Sean Olson was born September 15, 1967, to Edward C. and Patricia A. (Nelson) Olson in Aberdeen, SD. Eric attended O.M. Tiffany, Holgate Jr. High and graduated with the Aberdeen Central High School Class of 1986. Eric played sports during all those years including baseball, football, basketball, and track.

Fond memories from his youth revolve around the O.M. Tiffany neighborhood he lived in and many adventures with his middle and high school friends. He always remembered his aunt and uncle Frank and Arlene Hauck who took Eric and his friends on trips, always had treats after school, and often gave them a dollar to go to Heinz Market. Eric enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and his friends over the years. In addition to being an Oakland / Las Vegas Raiders fan, he loved his family, loyal friends, and with quiet strength helped many people over the years who were down on their luck, never asking for anything in return.

His loyalty and dependability are well known to all who knew him. Working along with his father at Red Owl and then Kessler’s meant a lot to him. He spent the last 25 years working at Menards since it opened in Aberdeen, many of those as a manager.  He enjoyed having daily banter with his coworkers and helping repeat customers.

In the last decade, he had reconnected with Stacy (Swanson) Morman, and they spent their time visiting zoos, museums, aquariums, parks, and historical sites. They also loved various competition shows and bingeing many a television series.

The family and Stacy Morman would like to thank all the medical staff who have shown compassion and caring over the past 3 years in dealing with Eric’s ongoing health battle.  His family also expresses their appreciation to Stacy for her loving devotion and care for Eric for so many years.

There are no words to describe the void that will be left with Eric's absence.  His calm presence and humor will be missed as he left us too soon, but in his honor, we will fill that space with love and devotion as he did to all of us.

Eric is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father Edward C. Olson; and his beloved dog Jazzy.

Beyond grateful for sharing his life are his mother, Patricia Olson; sisters Penny Stolsmark, Tami Olson, Stacy (Wayne) Roberts; brother Scott Olson; and partner Stacy (Swanson) Morman and her children. Also surviving him are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
