Elaine Marzolf Obituary

Elaine M. Marzolf, 70, of Groton, SD, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at Avantara, Groton.

Elaine’s wishes were to be cremated and requested no formal services.

Elaine Marie Marzolf was born on April 6, 1951, in Harvey, ND, to Clifford and Mary (Murphy) Marzolf. She was the oldest of four children. She graduated from Harvey High School in 1969. Elaine went on to attend college in Devils Lake, ND, and later graduated from the University of North Dakota with a teaching degree. She worked in Group Homes as a “Life Skills” teacher both in Devils Lake and Harvey. Elaine later moved to Aberdeen, SD, and worked in housekeeping at Aberdeen Health and Rehab and later at Avera St. Luke’s.

Elaine loved spending time visiting with family and friends. After retirement, she enjoyed doing embroidery. Elaine resided at Avantara in Groton since 2020.

Elaine is survived by her sister Janice (Doug) Harildstad of Carrington, ND; brothers: James (Lynette) Marzolf of Redfield, SD, and John (Dennean) Marzolf of Missoula, MT. She is also survived by her long-time friend Dan Hemen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
