Donald Fredrick Kuntz was born on February 22, 1938 to John Carl and Elizabeth (Krick) Kuntz in Aberdeen and graduated Aberdeen Central High School in 1956.

He met the love of his life, Remigia Graves known as Midge, and they were soon married in 1957.  They remained around the Aberdeen area and welcomed 6 wonderful children into their lives: John, Donald Jr, Robert, Michael, Richard, and Donna.  Don worked for Hartung Construction until he started his own elevator repair company in the mid 1980’s.

Don loved spending time outdoors.  He loved nature and all it had to offer.  When he wasn’t working, you would find him hunting or fishing.  He taught his boys how to shoot ducks and geese and how to catch a fish from the boat on the Missouri River.  He enjoyed just walking in nature as well and seeing all the beauty that was there.  He semi-retired to spend more time doing what he loved, but also took a job delivering cars for Chrysler Motor Company to stay occupied.  Nothing was more important to him than his family and friends.  His pride and joy were his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed it when they would spend summers at the farm and learn about hunting, fishing and nature.

Don is survived by his beautiful wife Midge of Aberdeen, SD; his children: Donald Jr., Robert, and Richard (Shelly) all of Aberdeen, SD, and Donna Luke of Mitchell, SD, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth; brother, Bob; sisters, Rita Andres and Carol Dailey; sons, John and Michael; son-in-law Michael Luke; and great grandson, Jackson Thor Van Buskirk.
