Dennis White

Dennis Henry White, 81, of Eureka, SD, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.

Dennis’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services being held.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends may sign the online guestbook.

Dennis Henry White was born on January 24, 1942, to Henry and Phyliss (Cain) White in Polo, IL, where he was raised. He attended school in Jamesville, WI.  Following high school, he joined the United States Navy.  After serving in the Navy he attended the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS.

After Dennis completed his schooling in the Seminary, he moved to Ashley, ND where he was the Pastor at the Salem Reformed Church.  While living in Ashley, he met and married his wife Betty.  They were blessed with two sons; Jason, and Jesse.

In December 1978, the family moved to Eureka, and Dennis worked at the cheese plant.  After the cheese plant closed he began working for the Eureka School District driving the school bus for many years until finally retiring.

Dennis loved the outdoors.  He loved to fish and hunt alongside his boys, and in return, he passed that love on to his grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, and Abbie.

Grateful for having shared Dennis’s life are his son Jason (Angel) White of Aberdeen, three grandchildren: Andrew, Austin, and Abbie; and one brother Gary (Mary) White of MO.

Dennis was preceded in death by his son Jesse and his sister Jill Bjork.
