Dennis Sebastian Lacher was born on March 22, 1948, the son of Bernard and Bertha (Heupel) Lacher in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Dennis grew up in Aberdeen and lived with his parents until he moved to Minnesota in 2000. Dennis lived with his brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Sandra, the summer of 2000 before moving to a group home in Milaca, MN. From there he moved to Park House in Monticello. Dennis spent 15 years at Park House before moving to The Gardens at Foley on July 3, 2017, where he resided until the time of his death.
While Dennis was at Park House, he worked at Functional Industries and spent time at Options, Inc., a day training and habilitation program in Big Lake. Dennis enjoyed outings with his Park House family. They experienced trips to Como Zoo, parades, golfing, movies, bowling and eating out. They celebrated birthdays, and holidays were spent celebrating with other Paradigm group homes. He also looked forward to weekly outings with his brother, Bruce. His choice for eating out with Bruce was usually Pizza Ranch.
Dennis loved music and had a large collection of records, tapes and CDs. Elvis was one of his favorites.
Dennis is survived by his sister, Marlene (Ron) Leighty; brother, Bruce (Sandra) Lacher; brother-in-law, Bill McNeary; sister-in-law, RoseMarie (Re) Lacher; and nieces and nephews: LeAnn (Leif) Petersen, Mark (Kari) McNeary, Lea Yager and Troy (Shelley) Scheffel.
