Chuck Manning

Chuck Manning, 78, of Sun City West, AZ, formerly Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

At Chuck’s request, no formal services will be held.

Chuck Manning was born on August 28, 1945, in Aberdeen, SD, to Beryl and Mary (Diegel) Manning. Chuck graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1963. He was joined in matrimony to Shirley Cunningham on November 7th, 1964. Together, they had four daughters: Brigid, Brenda, Becky, and Betsy. They made their home in Aberdeen, SD, until 2010, when they moved to Sun City West, AZ.

Chuck was a longtime salesman for Office Equipment Company, Inc., which he later purchased and operated until his retirement in 2010.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting, fishing, and camping, with trapshooting his most treasured pastime.

He will be remembered by his grandchildren for being the jokester of the family.

Grateful to having shared Chuck’s life are his wife, Shirley of 58+ years; and their four daughters: Brigid (Brad) Tennant, Brenda (Bob) Lyke, Becky (Scott) Schlosser, Betsy (Shane) Brick; his sister Donna (Bill) Robertson and sister-in-law Bette Bieber. He was a loving and generous grandfather to Alex and Sydney Johnson, Allison and Andy Campton, Shelby Arment and Austin Schlosser, Brady (Izzy) Brick and Brittani Brick. He also had four great-grandchildren: Hartlyn, Arayna, Phoenix, and Leah.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Mary; siblings Edna, Marvin, Harold, Alvin, and Bob.
