Charyl Doreen Zacher was born on October 16, 1948, to Wilburn and Bernice (Hogan) Hage in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended school in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School. Charyl attended college at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN.

Charyl married her lifelong partner, Leland Zacher, on October 9, 1971, at St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Aberdeen and were blessed with two children, Jamie and Nicole.

Charyl was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and nurtured a very strong faith. She was a stay-at-home mother until her children were older, and then she worked at Roncalli, at the Shopko pharmacy for 15 years, and finally one year at Lewis Drug.

Charyl enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren and traveling with them. She was known for her beautiful custom cakes that she made for many occasions. Charyl also enjoyed playing cards, board games, and reading. She always shared a warm smile and had a joyful laugh that was contagious. She was a very patient wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, and she loved deeply and unconditionally.

Grateful for having shared Charyl’s life are her husband, Leland “Lee” Zacher; son, Jamie (Julie) Zacher; daughter, Nicole (Josh) Price; six grandchildren: Danica and Devin Zacher, and Adelyn, Madison, Dawson, and Easton Price; sister, Renee (Mel) Zacher; brother, Sheldon Hage; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Bernice, and brother, Dwight Hage.
