Carole Rae Montville was born September 8, 1937, to Charles and Rita (Caouette) Montville in South Ashburnham, Massachusetts. Her family lived in Gardner, Massachusetts, where she was raised and attended Gardner High School. Growing up Carole was a loving daughter and helped in looking after her younger siblings.
Carole was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald James Johnson on December 24, 1955, in Ashby, Massachusetts, making their home in Gardner and starting their family. The family moved to South Dakota and to their union five daughters were born. Carole was mostly a stay-at-home mom, working at Bostwicks Department store for a time, Gibson's, and Kmart. She was an awesome often requested server in the Aspen Room at the Lumber Co. in Aberdeen. Later she worked for Walmart as a cashier for many years before retiring in January of 2008.
Carole was a loving daughter, wife, Mother, Grandmother, and mom to all of her fur babies: Chanel, Abby Rae, and Molly Mae. Carole enjoyed dancing and singing along with some of her favorite songs, playing cards, and board games with her family and friends. She loved decorating her beautiful tree at Christmas time and giving lots of gifts. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh
Grateful for having shared Carole’s life are her daughters: Jackie Mehlhaff, Karen Carr, Becky (Dallas) Johnson, Melissa (Lee) Zimbelman, and Melony (Jim) Malsom; one sister, Heidi (George) Shimp; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
