Bonnie was born on January 18, 1936, to Howard and Dorothy (Swartout) Wylie in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She grew up in Westport with her loving parents Walter and Dorothy Van Dover and her two sisters: Darlys “Duff” and Myrna. She attended school in Westport.

Bonnie (Wylie) Van Dover married Dwayne Schile on May 15, 1954, in Leola, SD. The first year of their marriage was spent on the Schile family farm located in rural Carlisle Township near Wetonka, SD.  They moved to Aberdeen where Bonnie was a homemaker and worked part-time for a neighborhood grocery store. During these early years in Aberdeen, they celebrated the birth of their first child, Kathleen Louise. In 1963, they moved back to the family farm where they made their home and continued to raise cattle. In 1965, they celebrated the birth of their second child Keith Dwayne.

Bonnie loved her family, her rural home, and life near Wetonka. Her life was blessed with many special neighbors and friends. Sharing good times spent together over the years; 4H and SD State Fair, homemade ice cream, snowmobile parties, and Brown County Fair. Bonnie also had a wonderful career with Stanley Home Products that spanned over 50 years. Her Stanley booth at the Brown County Fair was a staple for over 40 years! She really enjoyed this part of her life; holding Stanley parties, vendor shows, traveling to conventions. Making many lifelong friends.

Bonnie enjoyed reading, current events, following politics, and watching NASCAR races. She was so very proud of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren learn and grow.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Kathleen Schad of San Antonia, TX; son, Keith (Rita) Schile of Aberdeen, SD; five grandchildren: Megan (Matthew) Molleur of Austin, TX, Aaron (Bianca) Schad of San Antonio, TX, Matthew (Melody) Schad of San Antonio, TX, Morgan (Cory) Schnell of Aberdeen, SD, and Justin Schile of Aberdeen, SD; six great-grandchildren: Madison Molleur of Austin, TX, Marcus Molleur of Austin, TX, June Schad of San Antonio, TX, Mason Schnell of Aberdeen, SD, Theodore Schnell of Aberdeen, SD, Presley Schad of San Antonio, TX, and Wayne Schad of San Antonio, TX.
