Allen Rudolph Kulm, 90, of Mina, SD, was welcomed to his eternal home on December 18, 2018.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1429 North Dakota Street, Aberdeen, with Pastor Liz Dieseth Pearl officiating.
Burial, with military rites, will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5thAvenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the mortuary, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Allen was born to John and Barbara (Spitzer) Kulm on August 11, 1928, in Leola, SD. During his high school career, he took pride in being active in basketball, football, baseball, music, and the arts programs offered in Leola. Allen graduated from Leola High School in 1948. Following his graduation, he attended Mitchell Business College.
On April 30, 1950, during the middle of a spring blizzard, Allen married his high school sweetheart, Verna L. Eisenbeis, in Hosmer, SD. They began their life in Leola. Allen was then drafted to the Korean War in 1952, where he managed a PX in Okinawa, Japan. He then returned home to his beloved wife on Christmas Eve of 1953. Allen and Verna’s union was blessed with three children: Michael, Kathy, and Shari. They moved their family to the Aberdeen area in 1966, where Allen spent the entirety of his life. During his lifetime, he purchased and operated Hertz-Rent-a-Car and Bur-Mar’s Shoes.
Grateful to have shared in Allen’s life are his wife, Verna Kulm; children: Michael (Kathy) Kulm, Kathy (Dennis) Dosch, and Shari (Spencer) Pribble; brother, Martin (Delphia) Kulm; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, John and Barbara Kulm; sister, Ella Bodkin; and brothers: Eugene Kulm, Elmer Kulm, Irven Kulm, and Jack Kulm.
