Albert Singer, 87, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 214 7th Avenue SW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Samuel Bobby and Pastor Josiah Fitch officiating.

Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service, at the church, on Monday.

Albert Singer was born September 27, 1930 in Eureka, SD to Fred and Emma (Ehrmann) Singer.  He was raised on the family farm and attended rural schools.

Albert was united in marriage to Delores Huber on September 2, 1951 in Herreid, SD.  The couple made their home and raised their children on the family farm.  On this farm is where they raised Black Angus cattle.  Albert loved cattle. His love for cattle made him very avid about going to local sale barns to see cattle sell, even when he was living at Bethesda Town Square. He also loved wildlife, which one could see when you entered his room where there were many wildlife figurines.    Following retirement in 2000, they moved to Aberdeen, where Albert continued working part-time for the Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Department at Wylie Park until the age of 82.  Albert resided at Bethesda Towne Square until February of 2018, at which time he became a resident of Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.  Albert enjoyed visits from grandchildren and was especially fond of all of his great-grandchildren.  

Grateful to have shared in Albert’s life is his wife of 66 years, Delores Singer of Aberdeen; four daughters:  Linda (Jim) Lickfelt of Bath, SD, Quinda Osborn of Aberdeen, Pam (Steve) Sudlow of Aberdeen and Roxanne (Mike) Weisbeck of Herreid, SD; nine grandchildren:  Bridget Krausz, Collin Sawyers, Jason Osborn, Jeff Osborn, Victoria Jeschke, Andrea Knoepfle, Billy Kennedy, Nick Weisbeck and Clayton Weisbeck; 19 great-grandchildren; and twin brother, Walter (Olivia) Singer of Renton, WA.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alma Stadel; and one grandson, Ryland Lickfelt.
