Yvonne Marie Grubbs was born on January 5, 1940, to William (Bill) and Wilma Grubbs in Greely, CO.  She grew up in Edgemont, SD and graduated from Edgemont High School in 1958. After graduation, she enrolled in Beauty School in Greely, graduating in 1959.

Yvonne married Clinton Fredrick Grubbe on June 27, 1959 at the United Church in Edgemont. Together they had three children, Valorie, Michael, and Holly.

Yvonne led a vibrant life in Edgemont, serving as a troop leader for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Brownies; as well as volunteering in various ways with the United Church and Jaycees. Yvonne also owned and operated her own beauty shop in Edgemont.

Clinton passed way in January of 1983. Yvonne and Holly moved to Gillette, WY where she continued to work as a stylist in her own shop. Following that, Yvonne went back to school at National American University in Rapid City, where she received a BS in Business. Yvonne moved to Denver, where she embarked on a series of adventure, spending time teaching, working for a newspaper, and helping with grandchildren.

Upon her retirement, Yvonne returned to Edgemont, where she took up painting. This talent flourished during this time, where deep friendships and wonderful works of art were created. Yvonne also continued to foster her love of quilting, working for the church, and taking care of her Edgemont neighbors.

In 2016, while in remission from kidney cancer, she moved to Aberdeen. Yvonne became involved with the quilters at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and enjoyed helping with her great granddaughters. Yvonne enjoyed good food, football-especially the Broncos, a good gin & Tonic, cheating at Uno, and family time.

Her cancer returned in 2017. Yvonne had spent the last several years enjoying time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Yvonne is survived by her children: Valorie Stoller, Michael (Peggy) Grubbe, and Holly Steinbach; grandchildren: Rebecca (Brandon) Christiansen, Michael (Adeline) Stoller, Chad Stoller, Nicholas Grubbe, Hallie (Cameron) Setbacken, and Thomas Steinbach; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Jeannie (Lee) Hulm, Tedene Bennett, and Rosemary Peters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death, by her husband, Clinton, her parents William and Wilma Grubbs, and her brother, James Grubbs.
