Judith "Judy" Kay (Wahl) Grieb, 82, of Columbia, SD, formerly of Jamestown, ND, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Avera St. Luke's in Aberdeen, SD.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, on Saturday, May 16,2026, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3223 ND-20, Jamestown, ND. A Celebration of Life at the Baymont Hotel, 507 25th St SW, Jamestown, ND, with a luncheon to follow.
Judith was born in Upham, ND, on July 16th, 1943, to Adolf and Alice (Ahner) Wahl. Growing up on a farm meant chores and responsibilities, which she instilled into her children.
Judy graduated from high school in Upham, ND, in May of 1961. She went on to Minot Business College, graduating in 1962 with a Junior Accounting Degree.
Judy worked at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND, in the Accounting Department, and later moved to Ruby, ND, to work as a Bookkeeper at The Parts Service Store.
In March of 1974, Judy got married. From that marriage came her three children: Jennifer, John, and Angela. She encouraged her children to take part in many activities, including sports, piano, band, and orchestra. Attending as many events as she could to support them.
During her marriage, a trucking business was started. Judy played many roles: dispatcher, bookkeeper, and peacemaker between drivers and elevators. In 1998, she began a new job at Easter Seals/Goodwill in Jamestown, ND.
Following her retirement, Judy moved to Oaks, ND, where she enjoyed visiting with friends and gardening. She loved planting and caring for flowers. She later moved to Aberdeen, SD, where she met new friends, especially one special friend, Shirley. In 2023, Judy moved to Columbia, SD, to live with her daughter Angela. She enjoyed walks in the park, planting flowers to enjoy throughout the summer, sitting on the patio watching birds and squirrels, helping with barbecues, and baking cookies during the holidays for her family.
Grateful to have shared Judy’s life are her daughter, Jennifer (Shane) Davis of Cottage Grove, MN; granddaughters, Samantha and Kaitlyn Davis; and her daughter, Angela Grieb of Columbia, SD. her siblings: Marlan ( Carol ) Wahl, Larry Wahl, Terry( Ellene) Wahl, Jackie (Tom) Vetter, sister-in-law Shirley Wahl, cousin Rodney(Colleen) Wahl, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins around the country.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Alice Wahl; her son, John Grieb; her sisters, Marlene and Joanne; and her brother, Allen.
