Virginia “Ginny” S. Bauer, 80, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen

Virginia's wishes were to be cremated and a service will be held in Summer 2025.

Virginia “Ginny” Sally Schuck was born on February 18, 1944, to Leonard and Mary (Schneider) Schuck in Aberdeen, SD. She spent her entire life in Aberdeen, where she was born, raised, and surrounded by loved ones.

On June 8, 1963, Ginny married the love of her life, Joseph Bauer. Together, they built a beautiful life in Aberdeen and welcomed two children: Brenda and Joseph Jr.

Throughout her life, Ginny was an active and cherished member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She devoted countless hours of volunteer service to the Nearly New Thrift Shop, reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to her community.

Ginny will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her selfless dedication to her faith, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Ginny is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Joe Bauer; two children, Brenda (John) McGlothlin of Central Arkansas and Joseph Bauer Jr. of Aberdeen, SD; three sisters: Angie, Diane, and Mary; brother, Willie; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Mary, and one brother, Larry.
