Victor S. Zacher, 72, of Random Lake, WI, died unexpectedly in the early morning of Monday, October 27, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father J. Joseph Holzhauser, Celebrant.

Victor's wishes were to be cremated with burial, and military rites conducted by Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 of Aberdeen, taking place at St. Mary's Cemetery.

A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow Mass at the church hall.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

No visitation will be held.

Vic was born December 26,1941, in Onaka, SD, to Steve and Josephine (Binfet) Zacher. He spent his early years in Onaka, and in 1948, the family moved to Aberdeen, SD, where he attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from 8th grade. Vic then went to Assumption Abbey, in Richardton, ND, where he attended and graduated from high school. He furthered his education and graduated from St. John's University at Collegeville, MN. Vic served four years in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Italy, Taiwan, and Minot, ND.

Victor married Chung Mei Hong in 1969. They had three children. In 1971, Victor moved his family to Milwaukee, WI, where he worked for Nielsen Rating Company until retirement. Victor moved to Random Lake in June to live with his daughter and her family.

Victor is survived by his wife, Chung Zacher of Milwaukee, WI; three children: James (Theresa) Zacher of Buchanan, MI, Lisa (Tim) Phalen of Random Lake, and Lucy (Darren) Rogers of Honolulu, HI; six grandchildren: Aidan, Arianna, Isabella and Sabrina Phalen and Vanessa and Meagan Zacher; four step-grandchildren: Tiffany (Jeff) Anderson, Kara, Brittney, and Zach Leitz; two step great-grandchildren: Jaydan and Madison: one brother, Melvin (Renee) Zacher of West Fargo, ND; and two sisters: Dr. Diane Kawamura of Ogden, UT and Shirley (Henry) Heagley of Westport, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
