Timothy Ross Pierson was born January 21, 1953, to Don and Barb (Mason) Pierson in Virginia Beach, VA. They moved to Iowa when Don left the Navy, where Tim attended school. Tim graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1971 and moved to Iowa City. He was enrolled at the University of Iowa before moving to Minneapolis and studying at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Tim stayed in Minneapolis and worked as a car salesman until he came to Aberdeen as General Manager of Pierson Ford in 1983. This is where he married Judy Mae Hartze on August 12, 1985. They made Aberdeen their home and had one son, Paul.

Tim left the automotive industry to attend The Western Culinary Institute in Portland, OR. He received his degree in the Culinary Arts before opening The Home Place in Aberdeen. After working as a cook, Tim and Judy opened Mugs The Coffeehouse in Aberdeen. They enjoyed serving the community at Mugs until his retirement. After Judy passed, Tim moved to Mankato, MN for a short time before returning to Aberdeen. Tim was cared for at Angelhaus until the time of his passing.

In his spare time Tim enjoyed all things related to music and food. He shared his love of cooking with his friends and family whenever he could. Tim appreciated music from the favorites of his youth to modern alternative rock. He loved every moment as a grandfather and will be long remembered for his intelligence, humor, and caring spirit.

Grateful for sharing in Tim’s life are his son, Paul Pierson of Aberdeen; two grandchildren: Amelia and Charles; his father; Don Pierson of Naples, FL, and one sister; Robin Barber of Iowa City, IA.

Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Pierson; and mother, Barb Pierson.
