Thomas was born on January 1, 1947, to E.J. and Christine (Bromberg) Bunt in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Thomas, affectionately called Tommy, was born with special needs.
Tommy faced the loss of his mother at a young age and was embraced by his brother David, who, along with his wife Jan and their four sons, devotedly cared for Tommy throughout his life. He was the proud co-owner of the family business in Aberdeen, where he took great pride in his work for over 66 years.
Tommy enjoyed spending time pheasant and deer hunting, summers at Richmond Lake, visiting his Aunt Dorothy in Minnesota, vacations with the Kass family, and cheering for the Roncalli Cavaliers, Northern State Wolves, Minnesota Vikings & Minnesota Twins. He served as the ball boy for the Roncalli Cavaliers boys' basketball team in the late 1980s.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, David (Jan) Bunt of Aberdeen, SD, and John (Barbara) Bunt of Edmond, OK; his sister, Maryanne (Bill) Hagemann of Marietta, GA; and his sister-in-law, Linda Bunt of Scottsdale, AZ. Four nephews who helped care for Tommy through the years, Jeffrey (Thuy) Bunt of Royse City, TX, Gary (Kristen) Bunt of Sioux Falls, SD, Douglas (Patricia) Bunt of Cumming, GA, and Bradley (Cristy) Bunt of Aberdeen, SD. His nieces, Stacy Hagemann of Marietta, GA, and Ashlee Bunt of Fairfield, CT, and his nephew, Gregory (Stacy) Bunt of Scottsdale, AZ. He is also survived by seven great-nephews and five great-nieces: Devon (Sierra) Violanta, Jamie Bunt, Gracie Bunt, Gabriel Bunt, Kaden Bunt, Mason Bunt, Benjamin Bunt, Matthew Bunt, Bristan DeRocher, Lilly Cumello, Ava Cumello, and Edey Cumello.
He was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents and his beloved brother, James 'Jim' Bunt.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tommy’s memory to the Aberdeen Roncalli Athletic Department.
