Theresa Ann Heilman

Theresa Ann Heilman, 80, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen.

Burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the mortuary with a liturgical wake and rosary at 7 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church.

Theresa A. Schwingler was born on September 14, 1941, in Hosmer, SD, to Leo and Agnes (Schumacher) Schwingler. She was raised in Hosmer and graduated from Hosmer High School.

She married LeRoy Heilman in Bowdle on October 10, 1960, and they farmed together near Bowdle for 10 years. LeRoy and Theresa had two daughters and two sons together.

In 1970, they moved to Aberdeen and started their own commercial cleaning business. They cleaned various businesses in Aberdeen for many years. Theresa was an avid animal lover and enjoyed traveling every weekend.

Theresa is survived by her husband; her children: Jackie Huber of Aberdeen, Vicki Ducote of Kempner, TX, Stacey Heilman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Patrick Heilman of Aberdeen; her brother: Joe (Judy) Schwingler; three sisters: Angie (Raymond) Forman, Marie (Leonard) Leip, and Kathy Craig; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
