Terrance D. “Terry” Baadte, 72, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen.

Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, Aberdeen, with Fr. Mark Lichter officiating.  Casual attire has been requested by Terry’s family.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and also view the service via the live stream service link at www.schriversmemorial.com.

Visitation is 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the mortuary with a Liturgical Wake and Rosary at 5:00 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church on Monday.

Terrance Dean Baadte was born September 24, 1946, to Earl and Josephine (Schuring) Baadte at Aberdeen.  He was raised on the family farm near Andover, attended Andover Schools and graduated from Andover High School.  He attended North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton, ND and graduated in 1967 with a certificate in Auto Body Mechanics.  He moved to Aberdeen and started working for K.O. Lee Co. where he was employed for a short time.

Terry married Marilyn Gibson November 17, 1973 at Aberdeen and they continued to make the Aberdeen area their life long home.  They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.  In 1985 he started working for the Aberdeen Public School System where he worked for twelve years.  He started working for Banner Engineering in 1997 and retired from there in 2009.  He continued working part time at Wylie Park and Aberdeen Central High School for several more years.

Terry enjoyed the outdoors, especially going camping with family and friends.  He also enjoyed wood working.  Terry was an avid animal lover, especially his dog Charlie.

Terry is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Aberdeen; one son, Tim (Stacy) Baadte of Aberdeen; two daughters, Robin (Dave) Engraf of Aberdeen and Becky (Chris) Jurrens of Toronto, SD; one brother, Dennis (Sheila) Baadte of Denver, NC and their two children, Danielle and Denise; six grandchildren: Andrew and Josh Anderson, Amber Engraf, Brianna, Logan and Ashtyn Jurrens; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
