Sybella "Belle" Fettig, 93, of Aberdeen, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 3rd Avenue SE, Aberdeen, with Father Mike Kelly celebrant and Father Melvin Kuhn con-celebrating.
Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary followed by a liturgical wake service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at church on Friday.
Sybella Kramer was born on a farm near Strasburg, ND, to Wendelin and Natalie (Miller) Kramer on January 19, 1923. She later moved to St. Paul, MN and worked as a nanny at Fort Snelling.
When Joe returned from the war, they married at Fort Snelling on May 16, 1946. Soon after, they moved to Linton, ND, and then to Aberdeen, SD in 1948, where the couple took over operating the Milwaukee Bar and later changed it to the The Flame Restaurant.
Sybella raised 11 children in Aberdeen. She loved gardening, planting flowers, and was an amazing cook. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish, where she belonged to Band 8 and the Catholic Daughters. Belle also enjoyed spending time in Florida where she met many dear friends. She loved going for walks and playing bingo, but above all, cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She truly was the heart and soul of the Fettig family and will be missed greatly.
Belle is survived by her children: Sandra (Dennis) Angerhofer, Paula (Randy) Kamentz, Susan (Larry) Schmida, Joseph W. (Paulette) Fettig, Debra (Doug) Stevens, Patti Leif, Richard (Rita) Fettig, Mary (Mike) Krynski, Rebecca (Joel) Dockter, and Kristi (David) Bradsky; 41 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Kramer and Eddie Kramer; and daughter-in-law Karrie Perrier.
Belle is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Valentine Fettig; son, David Fettig; her parents; 13 siblings; and son-in-law, Timothy Morrissey.
