Steven Eugene Weisenburger, 66, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 3rd Avenue SE, Aberdeen with Father Shane D. Stevens, Celebrant.

Steve's wishes were to be cremated. Burial, with military rites, will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Steven Eugene Weisenburger was born September 8, 1948 at Eureka, SD, to Eugene and Agnes (Bender) Weisenburger. Steven and his family moved to Leola, SD, where he attended and graduated from Leola High School.

Following graduation, Steven enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam from 1967 through 1969. Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge, Steven made Aberdeen his home.

Steven was united in marriage to Mary Jane Steinhoff at Ipswich, SD, on May 4, 1973. Their union was blessed with two sons, Jamie and Brad. Steven became employed with The House of Glass in Aberdeen before spending seven years with the Aberdeen School System. He retired in 2013 and continued to make Aberdeen his home until the time of his death.

In his spare time, Steven enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. Above all, Steven loved his family and cherished the time spent with them, especially his grandchildren.

Blessed to have shared in Steven's life is his wife of 42 years, Mary Jane Weisenburger of Aberdeen; two sons: Jamie (Carrie) Weisenburger of Aberdeen and Brad (Theresa) Weisenburger of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Max, Harper, and Luke; and two brothers: Earl (Pat) Weisenburger and Gayland (Mardell) Weisenburger, both of Aberdeen.

Steven's parents; niece, Stephanie Johnson; and brother-in-law, Earl Steinhoff, preceded him in death.
