Steven Mark Pelzl died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis, MN.
Steve was born November 9, 1950 in Aberdeen to James and Dorothy (Williams) Pelzl, the second of four children.
Steve graduated from Central High School in 1969 and attended Northern State for two years before his father's heart attack forced him to withdraw to run Twin City Roofing Company.
He married Kim Marie Simon in Aberdeen on December 3, 1977.
Steve is survived by his wife; children Jamilya (Kyle) Peterson of New London, MN and Brittany of San Francisco; grandchildren, Alex Soto and Brielle Peterson; sister Cathy (Len) Ivey of Aberdeen, sister Sandi (Randy) Rabas of Billings; sisters and brothers-in-law Jean Pelzl and Mark (Lori) Simon of Aberdeen, Terry (Diane) Simon of Woodlands, TX, Cheryl (Jim) Milroy of Omaha, and Alane (Gary) Kramer of Scotch Grove, IA; 12 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Mike.
Steve was passionate for the game of golf. He is the first/only person to be inducted into both the SD Bowling Hall of Fame and the SD Golf Hall of Fame.
Per Steve's wishes, a private, family memorial service was held under the direction of Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen. Friends may sign his online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com.
Steve's family requests memorials be directed, in his name, to the Junior Golf program First Tee of SD.
