Sandra Marie Kallenberger

Sandra M. Kallenbeger, 70, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2026, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

Sandra's wishes were to be cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time.

Sandra Marie was born on October 28, 1955, to George and Delores (Gisi) Grote in Aberdeen, SD, where she was raised and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1974. She furthered her education at vocational school and began working at Control Data. Sandy was later employed by 3M, where she worked until retiring.

Sandy loved the outdoors, and she and her husband, Jerry, spent many years traveling to the Black Hills, where they enjoyed hiking, rock collecting, and camping. Sandy had a zest for life, whether it was spending time in their backyard pool or weekends at Richmond Lake trails, where she hiked, had picnics, and barbecues with her husband, mother, and brother-in-law. She loved planning parties for her hubby, Jerry, and enjoyed the company of many friends and family.

Sandy will be remembered for her kind soul and was loved by many.

Jerry would like to give special thanks to his sister, Genie, who was always there to care for Sandy in times of need.

Grateful for having shared Sandy’s life are her husband, Jerry Kallenberger; her sisters: Louise Perry of Salt Lake City, UT, Jill Heskell of Salt Lake City, UT, Jackie Kirchgasler of Aberdeen, SD, and Bonnie Kolb of Aberdeen, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sheila Hansen of Salt Lake City, UT.
