Sandra Louise Buechler

Sandra Louise Buechler, 66, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel, Aberdeen, with Father Jeffrey Schulte officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, at the mortuary with a liturgical wake and rosary at 7 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour before the service at the mortuary.

Sandra L. Buechler was born August 16th, 1956 to Walter and Marlyene (Schwan) Buechler in Aberdeen, SD. She was raised in Leola, SD where she attended and graduated high school in 1974.

Sandy then moved to Aberdeen and began working at 3M in May of 1975. Sandy continued her life in Aberdeen raising her two daughters, Brittney and Courtney. Sandy then met her spouse Donnie Hinz in 1998 and they continued to raise Brittney and Courtney together. In the years following Sandy retired from 3M in 2011 after working there for 37 years and moved out to the farm in Westport, SD, where she resided until she passed away.

Sandy always enjoyed an adventure whether it be traveling, fishing, or just camping with the family. Sandy loved her two daughters and loved her grandchildren even more. Sandy was always the one to jump in the tractor to help Donnie with the seasonal to-dos; she prided herself on a good day’s work.

Sandy always found the joy in the little things. Her arms and ears were always kept open for anyone that needed a hug or to just be heard.

Grateful for sharing Sandy’s life are Donnie Hinz of Westport, SD; parents, Walter and Marlyene; daughters: Brittney (Ben) Filipiak of Philip, SD, and Courtney (Cameron) Lane of Billings, MT; brother Todd (Sharmen) Buechler of Aberdeen, SD; sister Lori (Lonny) Lux of Aberdeen, SD; sister-in-law Bobbie Buechler of Aberdeen, SD; five grandchildren: Kylie, Aliyah, Lillian, Emma Filipiak, and Ryker Lane.

Sandy was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and brother James “Jim” Buechler.
