Rozella Marie Rogggenbuck was born June 4, 1926, in Milbank, SD, to Frank and Clare (Boruta) Roggenbuck.  She was the first of five children.

Rozella graduated from Milbank High School in 1944 and attended Northern Normal and Industrial School (now Northern State University) in Aberdeen, where she earned a teaching certificate.  She then taught rural school in Grant County at Grant Central School District #6 in Twin Brooks, SD and Alban School District #3 in Milbank, SD from 1944 until 1946.

Rozella was united in marriage to Wilfred Simon Parrow, son of Wilfred and Marie (Mary Hoffman) Parrow, on August 28, 1946, in Milbank, SD.  Rozella and Wilfred lived in Aberdeen from 1946 until 1948, when they moved to Wahpeton, ND.  In 1957, Rozella became employed with Montgomery Ward and Company in Wahpeton. Upon the couple’s return to Aberdeen in 1958, Rozella continued working for Montgomery Ward in Aberdeen before beginning employment with the Aberdeen Public School System.  While with the school system, Rozella served five schools a week as secretary to the Principals at Simmons, Howard Hedger, May Overbee, Lincoln, and Henry Neill elementary schools until 1967.  Rozella then joined the Aberdeen Area Office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a procurement officer and remained there until her retirement in 1987.  Rozella and Wilfred shared over 61 years of marriage before he passed away on March 31, 2008.  She continued to reside in Aberdeen until the time of her death.

Rozella was a charter member and past president of the Aberdeen Genealogy Society.  Her genealogic research information on her family and her husband’s family is extensive and a tribute to her passion.  She had several articles published in genealogy magazines and corresponded with people throughout the United States and Canada who were researching shared ancestors.  Rozella was also a member of Sacred Heart Altar Society’s Band 8 in Aberdeen and a past member of St. John’s Altar Society in Wahpeton, ND.  She baked many pies and cakes for Altar Society fundraisers and Sacred Heart Church bazaars.

In her spare time, Rozella loved playing Bridge and was a member of several Bridge clubs throughout her life.

Rozella is survived by daughters, Sandra (Gary) Walworth of Walker, MN and Kathleen Parrow of Spearfish, SD; grandsons, James (Deb) Walworth and great-granddaughter, Elena, of Cape Coral, FL and David Walworth and great-granddaughter, Shami, of Federal Way, WA; sister, Irene Roggenbuck Reihe of Fargo, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rozella was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred; her parents, her sister, Gladys Roggenbuck Seide; and brothers, Donald and Ronald Roggenbuck.
