Rose A. Hoellein

Rose A. Hoellein, 90, of Aberdeen, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at All Saints Catholic Church in Mellette, SD, with Father Christopher Hughes officiating. Burial will take place at Northville Cemetery.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Friends may sign her online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Wednesday.

Rose A. Krietel was born on December 10, 1922, to Felix and Katherine (Schatz) Krietel in Aberdeen. This is the area where she was raised and attended school.

Rose was united in marriage to Elden Hoellein on July 2, 1942. The couple farmed together until 1972, when he passed away. In 1973, Rose moved to Washington State, where she volunteered at Juvenile Hall and later became a teacher's aide. She loved helping the children with math and enjoyed going to school every day. Rose held that position for 26 years, until her eyesight failed. She returned to Aberdeen in 2008. On January 27, 2009, she became a resident of ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen and continued to reside there until the time of her death.

Rose loved farm life and was a hard worker. She especially enjoyed the many years she served as a 4-H Leader.

Rose is survived by two sons, Elden "Duane" (Rose) Hoellein of Northville, SD and William (Esther) Hoellein of Hosmer, SD; one grandson, Marty (Amy) Hoellein; one granddaughter-in-law, Tina Hoellein; five great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaylee, Brady and Briley Hoellein and Allen Frasier; and one sister, Donna Usselman of Salem, OR.

Rose's parents; husband; three grandchildren: Audrey in 1994, Jeff in 2007, and Rob in 2011; two brothers; and two sisters preceded her in death.
