Ronald E. Rieck

Ronald E. Rieck, 71, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his home.

Ronald’s wishes were to be cremated with burial taking place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Following the burial, a celebration of Ronald’s life and time of sharing memories will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 South Jay St, Aberdeen, until 2:00 p.m.

Ronald E. Rieck was born April 4, 1948, to Rudolph and Marie (Artz) Rieck in Aberdeen, SD.  This is the area where he was raised and attended school. Following graduation from Aberdeen Roncalli High School, Ronald furthered his education at Northern State College in Aberdeen.

Ronald was employed at both Case IH and Farm Power in Aberdeen before becoming a self-employed “jack of all trades” who could fix anything.  He eventually became the owner and operator of Ace Appliance, where he remained for many years.

Grateful to have shared in Ronald’s life are his children:  Robert Rieck of Willmar, MN, Justin (Karen) Rieck of Sioux Falls, SD, Christopher Rieck of Aberdeen and Amy (Daniel) Trahearn of Switzerland; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Mary) Rieck of Aberdeen; and two sisters, Kay (Dave) Like and Janine (Dennis) Huber, both of Pierre, SD.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Jr; his parents, Rudolph and Marie; his brother, Richard; and one granddaughter, Ashley Rieck.
